South Carolina Web Testers
In the past, ASCIT partnered with the SC Assistive Technology Program to gather everyday users of assistive technology in order to see just how well they were able to use common websites.
A variety of state agency websites have been evaluated in several stages of the web testers program. We have evaluated others, for a fee, based on the scope and depth of evaluation. Reports are designed for individual needs. Reports are prepared after the reviews are finished, and include the testers’ findings and many comments/descriptions of the testers’ successful and unsuccessful experiences in accessing information on the agency websites. Reports also include basic explanations of the accessibility/usability principles involved, as well as resources for correcting barriers. We evaluate websites and describe barriers faced on specific tasks, as requested. If you are interested in learning more about the Web Testers and the program itself, contact Janet Jendron.
We are in the process of redesigning the Web Testers program with a goal of sustainability for the future.
